Behind the plans
A project like Chitton Farm doesn’t happen overnight. Before a single brick is laid or a wall is knocked down, there’s a huge amount of behind-the-scenes work that goes into preparing the site.
To date, the project has involved:
- Ecology, biodiversity and bat surveys to protect the local environment and wildlife
- Topography, land and building surveys to understand the site’s full potential
- Structural investigations to ensure the buildings are sound
- Land registration work to formalise ownership and boundaries
Planning permission has been an intricate process too. We’ve secured:
- Two Lawful Development Certificates (for the garage and loft)
- Full planning approval for the main house works
- Permissions for extensive upgrades to water, power and telecoms
We’ve also worked with a wide range of consultants – from architects and designers to insulation, drainage and engineering specialists – alongside Building Control and a dedicated structural team.
It’s been a complex path, but all of this groundwork ensures that every step we take is well thought-out, compliant, and built to last.
Thank you to SJM Surveys and SJM Planning for getting us through the planning process!
