East On Projects delivers new Channel 4 News Leeds studio and newsroom.

Over the past year, we have been working on a number of landmark newsroom projects and we are thrilled to announce that we have completed the design and build of Channel 4 News’ Leeds studio and newsroom.

In a groundbreaking move for the UK news broadcast sector, the launch of this new studio means that Channel 4 News is the first in its sector to broadcast news programming from two permanent locations and we were delighted to be selected to implement the project.

Based at a city centre location in Brewery Wharf, offering a stunning backdrop to live news bulletins, we delivered these new offices with a fully integrated newsroom, two edit suites, make up and dressing room plus ancillary bathrooms, kitchen and breakout area. The star of the show, however, is the state-of-the art broadcast studio with curved video wall. Look out for this the next time you watch Channel 4 News!

We worked closely with Lauren Merritt, ITN Project Manager and would like to thank her for supporting us throughout the past months. We’re also very grateful to specialist providers Scena, for the set, plus the team at ES Broadcast and Simon Cauldwell for the lighting.

Darryl Easton, Managing Director of East On Media Solutions, says, “It’s not often that you get asked to deliver such a high-profile project. We are delighted to have been chosen as the project provider and I hope that the new studio will be a great addition to the region’s media landscape as well as national news broadcasting.”
