Say what you do – and do what you say
Our first Annual Business Review meeting following the integration of Office 2 Interiors to the East On Projects group was a great success, with everyone from across the business contributing to a lively day of discussion about plans for the year ahead -even Esme the cocker spaniel had a lot to add!
The focus of the day was around putting East On’s core values to the fore as we rise to the challenge of rapid growth. Having recently transitioned the business to an Employee Ownership Trust, we wanted to ensure that all the team members have a voice in future decisions; in addition to this, we all agreed that the business should carry on living up to the aims of our recent ISO accreditation in order to underline our commitment to both service and sustainability in everything we do – especially valuable to the new clients that we have been working with recently. The phrase of the day was “say what you do – and do what you say”.
The team at Gresham Office Furniture in Clerkenwell hosted the day and took us on an insightful tour of their showroom. It was fascinating to learn of a British success story, starting out with a typewriter engineer in Bolton and then developing into the furniture business that it is today, whilst staying true to its northern roots. Understanding Gresham’s design heritage and commitment to bespoke pieces whilst also delivering on the requirements of today’s modern workplace made for a great learning experience.
