We crack the Crystal Maze!

Everyone on the East On Projects team prides themselves on being an ingenious problems solver, so we recently put this to the test with a team “away day” at the Crystal Maze Experience in London’s West End.

Undergoing a combination of solo and team puzzles, we were certainly tested in the best possible way, with everything from history and mental arithmetic challenges to physical experiences! And then we realised that it was just like a day on site – solving problems, managing time, playing to people’s strengths and occasionally having to rethink the plan.

For those too young to know about the legendary Channel 4 show, the ultimate aim of the game is to win time in the Crystal Dome and then catch as many tokens as possible whilst industrial fans are blowing them in every direction (definitely better than it sounds!) and we’re delighted to say we were very successful, even if we say so ourselves…

After a great night in Chinatown with more food than we could possibly ever manage, we all agreed that although day-to-day projects tend to involve fewer locked rooms and flying tokens, good communication, creative thinking and a strong team can solve almost anything.
